Periodical technical inspection test of heavy-duty vehicle brake systems (CITA) |
|
2024-05-22 | Proposal to keep a reliable test of heavy-duty vehicle brakes in PTI regardless of technology without creating new obligations to vehicle owners or managers, to ensure braking efficiency is subject to PTI test, and to read only proposal with no cybersecurity threats. Reference braking forces shall be declared at type approval per axle and made available for roadworthiness activities. Wheel brake demand values shall be available live on the vehicle. Either a digital procedure reading wheel brake demand or actuator values through OBD using universal diagnostic tools, or an analogic procedure measuring voltage or power supplied to brake actuators at manufacturer-designated points, shall be used to assess braking forces against reference values using current roller brake testers.
