GRE will consider proposals for amendments to the Rules attached to the 1997 Agreement on Periodical Technical Inspections, if any. |

4. | Simplification of Lighting and Light-Signalling UN Regulations |
GRE will be informed about the progress of the Informal Working Group “Simplification of the Lighting and Light-Signalling Regulations” (IWG SLR) and will address amendment proposals prepared by IWG SLR, if available. At its previous session, GRE agreed to seek advice from the Committee on Coordination of Work (AC.2) and WP.29 on the following points:
GRE is invited to revert to the IWG SLR request for guidance on the principle “prohibited if not allowed” for the lamp installation according to UN Regulation No. 48.

GRE will address a new proposal submitted by the expert from Germany that aimed to clarify that only light-signalling devices may incorporate an illuminated manufacturer logo.

Proposal is to define common rules while leaving the choice to countries to adopt them or not. These rules must in particular make it possible to automatically cut off the work lamps in circulation to avoid glare and make traffic safer.
