The expert from the Republic of Korea presented informal document GRSP-79-11 with a proposal to extend the current exclusion in paragraph 6.1.5. of sensors being part of driver assist systems to those of automated driving systems. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands recalled that these sensors were allowed to be damaged during the test under the assumption that the main functions of the vehicles (such as steering or braking) would remain operational and asked whether that would be the case after damage to sensors of automated driving systems. The expert from OICA suggested that this matter be discussed in TF-AVRS.
