Request to develop an amendment to the GTR 8 testing provisions to accommodate the latest innovations for steering systems which have significantly low steering gear ratio (i.e. quick steering characteristics).

Request for authorization to add a new mandate under the informal working group on Electric Vehicles and the Environment (EVE) to develop a new UN GTR on the topic of in-vehicle battery performance and durability.

Proposal for Amendment 3 to the United Nations Global Technical Regulation No. 19 to introduce the evaporative emission test procedure for the Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP EVAP).

Proposal to specify a head restraint height between 720 mm and 830 mm including a new method for measuring the effective height of head restraints, use of the Biofidelic Rear Impact Device (BioRID II) test dummy, and to improve the overall text. This proposal also eliminates the backset measurement test procedure using the HRMD method.

Proposal to align the provisions for retreaded tyres marked using the three-peak-mountain snow-flake (3PMSF) symbol with amendments to UN R117 and to restore the remainder of a sentence that was unintentionally deleted in paragraph 3.2.1. during a previous amendment procedure.

Consolidated update of UN R22 from the informal working group on protective helmets, including:

• Reference headforms (shape, dimensions)
• Oblique impact test method of measuring rotational acceleration
• Product of the spectral distribution of radiation of the signal light and standard illuminant D65
• High speed particle test for visors, and
• Test for photochromic, liquid crystal visors.

Proposal to exempt “sensors, cameras, radar devices, etc.” components of approved driver assist systems from the Annex 3 prohibition against damage provided the basic braking and steering performance remains intact.

Proposal to align the 08 series with previous series of amendments with regard to approval authority notification of modifications that affect technical performance and/or documentation.

Proposal to transpose the provisions on minimum number of anchorage points and location of lower anchorages from Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3).
