Draft proposal for submission to the March 2018 WP.29 session requesting authorization to pursue:

1. Revision of UN Regulations as warranted with regard to facilitation of vehicle technical inspections,
2. Development of inspection countermeasures against tampering (target: June 2019),
3. Guidance on the establishment of in-use performance requirements for equipment and systems (target: November 2019),
4. Consistency between the 1968 Vienna Convention (traffic rules) and the 1997 Vienna Agreement (vehicle inspections),
5. Prescriptions for inspection of highly automated and autonomous vehicles (draft proposal June 2019),
6. Guidance for education and certification of PTI inspectors, PTI quality assurance, and testing centres, and
7. Uniform provisions for the inspection of wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors with regard their roadworthiness.

Document considering the possibility to change the philosophy of the Agreement and to become an Agreement with a set of harmonized technical prescriptions for vehicles in use, derived from those of the Agreements on the construction of vehicles (1958 and 1998 Agreements).

Information on Swiss detection of significant deactivation of Ad Blue diesel emissions reduction systems on EURO V vehicles (no EURO VI manipulated vehicles have been found to date).
