UN Regulations Nos. 49 and 83 include provisions for a “driver inducement system” that alerts drivers of low reagent levels (urea, etc.) critical to correct emissions control performance and eventually prevents vehicle operation if the reagent tank is empty. Under UN R49 (para. 5.2), rescue, police, and other emergency/special use vehicles are exempted from this requirement. This proposal would extend the same treatment under UN R83.

Research paper concerning the life-cycle CO2 emissions per mile traveled for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) across the United States. The authors found large variations in the estimates across regions, charging schemes (for example, higher use of coal to generate power during overnight charging), and vehicle models (including differing relative results between models under different regional charging scenarios).

Working draft regulation on uniform provisions concerning the approval of dual-fuel retrofit systems to be installed on heavy duty diesel engines and vehicles.

Status report on the development of harmonized emissions standards for motorcycles and similar vehicles, including the work on crankcase and evaporative emissions and on-board diagnostics.

Document for discussions within the EPPR informal group presenting the status of final amendments and bracketed text to the draft global technical regulation on motorcycle crankcase and evaporative emissions.

NHTSA recommendations for the state-of-charge of the energy system of plug-in and fuel-cell vehicles at the time of testing and on the conditioning procedures prior to testing.

JRC position accepting the NHTSA views (document EVSTF-06-07) on the state-of-charge levels prior to testing (i.e., 95% for externally charged systems and 90% for fuel cell vehicles) and openness to revised language related to the draft “48-hour elapsed time prior to testing” provision.

Proposal to correct the inadvertent deletion of a sentence in by WP.29/2015/57 adopted at the 166th session of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29).

Proposal to clarify Annex 10, paragraph 11 with respect to the “formal documentation package” according to paragraph 5.1.4.2. and the “extended documentation package” described in paragraph 5.1.4.3.

Proposal to add the condition “when the engine is equipped with the appropriate sensors” with regard to OBD fuel injection monitoring, aligning the text with that used in GTR No. 5.
