The Forum adopted a new UN Regulation on LED light sources at its March 2012 session. This document updates the collective amendment that introduces LED light sources into the relevant UN Regulations 4, 6, 7, 23, 38, 50, 77, 87, 91 and 119.

GRE/2012/26 is a proposal from the Working Party “Brussels 1952” (GTB) to update provisions on heat resistance tests. This correction from GTB provides an improved justification for the proposed amendments.

Document GRE/2012/39 ( a proposal to introduce interdependent lamps (“Y” Lamps) into UN R87) did not take into account document WP.29/2012/78 submitted for adoption by WP.29 at its 158th (November 2012) session. Therefore, GTB proposes this new document to replace GRE/2012/39.

Text as adopted by the Working Party on Lighting and Light Signalling (GRE) at its 68th session to introduce interdependent lamps (“Y” lamps) into the regulation, extend the application of “Y” lamps to DRL and to update the requirements concerning the light-source failure.
