The 1998 Global Agreement provides the framework for establishing UN Global Technical Regulations. Under the Agreement, the World Forum maintains a Compendium of Candidates listing national and/or regional regulations proposed by Contracting Parties as possible bases for the development of Global Technical Regulations. Items remain on this list for five years unless renewed by request of a Contracting Party.
