In accordance with Chapter III, Rule 7 of the Rules of Procedure (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/690/Rev.2) of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), the first item on the provisional agenda is the adoption of the agenda.

GRVA may wish to be briefed by the secretariat on the highlights of the March 2024 session of WP.29, regarding the activities of the Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (GRVA) and other relevant issues.

GRVA may wish to be informed of the WP.29 discussions WP.29 on the Working Parties’ input on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in vehicles (in the context of vehicle regulations).

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2024/34, as amended or any other updated proposals.

GRVA may wish to be briefed on the outcome of the recent meeting(s) of the Informal Working Group (IWG) on Automated Driving System (ADS).

GRVA may wish to discuss the arrangements of the GRVA workshop(s) in 2024, as agreed by WP.29 in November 2023 and by GRVA in January 2024 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/18, Annex III).

GRVA may wish to be briefed on the outcome of the recent meeting(s) of the IWG on Functional Requirements for Automated Vehicles (FRAV), if any.

GRVA may wish to be briefed on the outcome of the recent meeting(s) of the IWG on Validation Method for Automated Driving (VMAD), if any.

GRVA will review the outcome produced by the Integration Group, gathering experts of the IWGs on FRAV and VMAD, aiming to deliver the integrated guidelines on ADS safety assurance for final consideration by WP.29 in June 2024.

GRVA may wish to be briefed on the outcome of the last meetings of the IWG on Event Data Recorder / Data Storage Systems for Automated Driving (EDR/DSSAD) and review DSSAD performance elements for ADS prepared by the group.

GRVA agreed to review the proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 157, tabled by the experts from France, aimed at clarifying the reference to UN Regulation No. 10 (EMC) in the regulation after the Working Party on Lighting and Light-Signalling (GRE) has completed related activities in the context of the development of a new series of amendments to UN Regulation No 10.

GRVA agreed to review the proposal tabled by the experts from the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) and from the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), aimed at harmonizing the provisions in UN Regulations Nos. 79 and 157 with the wording in UN Regulation No. 152 (AEBS for M1 and N1) on the conditions for re-instatement of the system at the “initiation of each engine start / run cycle”.

GRVA may wish to discuss the work coordination between working parties on ADS.

GRVA may wish to be informed on the progress made by the corresponding Task Force on the Fitness for ADS (TF on FADS).

GRVA agreed to consider an amendment proposal to the Consolidated Resolution on the construction of vehicles (R.E.3), tabled by the expert from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, aimed to clarify the provisions in Annex VII regarding software updates.

GRVA agreed to resume the discussion on the inclusion of the Categories R, S and T vehicles in the scope of UN Regulation No. 155, on the basis of new documents, if any.

GRVA may wish to be informed on the outcome of the technical workshop(s) on the implementation of cyber security as well as on the outcome of a workshop on software updates provisions under the 1958 and 1998 Agreements, on the model of those already organized for the implementation of UN Regulation No. 155, if any.

GRVA will be brief on the outcome of discussions conducted by the IWG on CS/OTA regarding data protection and privacy-by-design as well as regarding access to in-vehicle data, if any.

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of an amendment proposal to the scope of UN Regulation No. 131 (AEBS for heavy vehicles), tabled by the expert from Australia, to clarify requirements in the scope requesting for reciprocal recognition with UN Regulation No. 152 (Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) for M₁ and N₁ vehicles). The proposal is complemented by an informal document proposing amendments to UN Regulation No. 130 for the same purpose.

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of the document tabled by the expert from the International Association of the Body and Trailer Building Industry (CLCCR), a proposal for a supplement to the 11 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 13 (Heavy vehicle braking), addressing regenerative braking system of the trailer/semi-trailer.

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of a proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 13 (Heavy vehicle braking), tabled by the Netherlands (Kingdom of), aimed at clarifying the requirements related to the Type IIA test.

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of a proposal, tabled by the expert from Germany, for amendments to UN Regulation No. 13 aimed at clarifying the mass to be taken into account in the context of the Type IIA test.

GRVA agreed to consider a proposal tabled by the experts from CLEPA and OICA, aimed at enabling the use of a positive lock type system as an alternative to a friction type parking braking system to fulfil the statis requirements of UN Regulations Nos. 13 and 13-H.
