4. (g) UN Regulation No. 157

GRVA agreed to review the proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 157, tabled by the experts from France, aimed at clarifying the reference to UN Regulation No. 10 (EMC) in the regulation after the Working Party on Lighting and Light-Signalling (GRE) has completed related activities in the context of the development of a new series of amendments to UN Regulation No 10.

GRVA agreed to review the proposal tabled by the experts from the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) and from the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), aimed at harmonizing the provisions in UN Regulations Nos. 79 and 157 with the wording in UN Regulation No. 152 (AEBS for M1 and N1) on the conditions for re-instatement of the system at the “initiation of each engine start / run cycle”.

8. (c) Clarifications

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of a proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 13 (Heavy vehicle braking), tabled by the Netherlands (Kingdom of), aimed at clarifying the requirements related to the Type IIA test.

GRVA-19-11 | UN R13: Proposal for a new Supplement Proposal to clarify the need to apply, when relevant, the Type II test as required by Annex 4 under paragraph 1.8.2.5 (b) in Annex 15 for alternative brake lining purposes.

GRVA agreed to resume consideration of a proposal, tabled by the expert from Germany, for amendments to UN Regulation No. 13 aimed at clarifying the mass to be taken into account in the context of the Type IIA test.

GRVA agreed to consider a proposal tabled by the experts from CLEPA and OICA, aimed at enabling the use of a positive lock type system as an alternative to a friction type parking braking system to fulfil the statis requirements of UN Regulations Nos. 13 and 13-H.

GRVA may wish to review proposals related to UN GTR No. 3 (Motorcycle brakes), if any.

9. (b) UN Regulation No. 78

GRVA agreed to review the proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 78, tabled by the expert from World Bicycle Industry Association (WBIA), aimed at introducing specific deceleration requirements for the Speed Electronically Power Assisted Cycles were belonging to the Category L in UN Regulation No. 78.

12. Revision 3 to the 1958 Agreement

GRVA may wish to receive a status report on the activities of the IWG on International Whole Vehicle Type Approval (IWVTA) and subgroup activities, if any.

13. Other business
13. (a) Inland Transport Committee Climate Change Mitigation Strategy

GRVA may wish to be briefed on the outcome of the November 2023 session of WP.29 regarding the input of WP.29 on the Inland Transport Committee Climate Change Mitigation Strategy and may wish to prepare reporting activities as necessary for the purpose of WP.29 and the Inland Transport Committee.

13. (b) Arrangement of meetings

GRVA may wish to be briefed on the input from WP.29 regarding the May 2025 session envisaged in Bangkok, Thailand.

13. (c) Programme of Work

GRVA may wish to update its programme of work to provide guidance to the GRVA leadership team in preparation of the Administrative Committee on the coordination of work (AC.2) sessions in 2024.

13. (d) Any other business

GRVA may wish to consider any other proposals, if available.

14. Adoption of the list of proposed decisions

GRVA will amend, if necessary, and adopt the list of proposed decisions prepared by the secretariat, based on the recommendations received during the informal session held in Troy, Michigan (United States of America), 20-24 May 2024.
