GTB proposal to amend the geometric visibility provisions. Subsequent to the preparation of the proposed amendments in document GRE/2012/42, several editorial corrections have been identified by GTB experts. This document replaces that original submission.

Proposal from Germany to insert provisions for the use of incandescent light sources in the case of light source modules and lamps with non-replaceable light sources.

Proposed modifications to the German proposal (GRE/2012/20) to ensure that non-replaceable and unapproved filament light sources used in sealed devices and in (filament) light-source modules have a sufficient lifetime and fulfill color endurance verification.

Document GRE-68-02 from the Working Party “Brussels 1952” (GTB) proposes to amend the geometric visibility provisions of multiple lighting regulations. Since manufacturers have already developed lighting in line with the current definitions, OICA seeks a 48-month transition period.

UN R7 has no requirements concerning changes in luminance of a lamp. Therefore, certain lamps which could not be installed in accordance with UN R48 could nonetheless obtain type approval and be sold in the aftermarket. This proposal would prevent such an occurrence.

GRE/2012/42 is a GTB proposal to amend the geometric visibility provisions. This document corrects GRE/2012/42 in line with the latest state of the subject regulations including amendments submitted for consideration at the November WP.29 session.

Additional supporting arguments for the proposal to modify the photometric performance requirements of front position lamps integrated with front fog lamps and of rear position lamps integrated with rear fog lamps (analogous to the treatment of position lamps integrated into headlamps).

This document contains editorial corrections to document GRE/2012/42 to amend the geometric visibility provisions of Regulations No. 3, 6, 7, 48, 77 and 91 following a review with the GRE secretariat to ensure that the proposal aligns with the latest state of the regulations.
