GRVA-10-35 | UN R157: Amendments to document GRVA-10-25 Changes introduced per the GRVA deliberations on 26 May regarding ALKS response to emergency vehicles and interpretation of the term ‘detectable collision’.
GRVA-10-36 | UN R157: Amendments to document GRVA-10-26 Changes introduced per the GRVA deliberations on 26 May regarding extension of the scope of the regulation to include all M (passenger) and N (commercial) category vehicles.
GRVA/2021/3 | UN R157: Proposal for amendments Proposal to expand the scope to include N category vehicles and to apply the minimum performance for service braking systems (5 m/s²) as required in the 11 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 13, for vehicles of the Categories M2, M3, N2 and N3. The overall objective of the former Informal Working Group (IWG) on Automatically Commanded Steering Function (ACSF) was to develop technical requirements for Automated Lane Keeping Systems (ALKS). The initial limitation to passenger cars (M1 category vehicles) was agreed in order to deliver within the given timeline. After having successfully accomplished the work for the system in a first step, the automotive industry has now reviewed and examined the existing requirements under the premise of including all vehicle categories M and N.
GRVA requested the secretariat to submit ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2021/3 as amended by GRVA-10-36 to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration and vote at their November 2021 sessions, subject to final review by GRVA at its September 2021 sessions.

GRVA received an oral report of the IWG on Cyber Security and OTA issues (CS/OTA).
GRVA reviewed GRVA-10-12 and GRVA-10-41 and agreed to resume consideration of this matter at its September 2021 session.
GRVA discussed the implementation of UN Regulation No. 155 and agreed to organize a workshop on this matter (as virtual meeting) to take place, if possible, before mid of July 2021.

The expert from France withdrew ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2021/6 and explained that the concern addressed in that document had already been solved at the ninth session of GRVA with an amendment to UN Regulation No. 157.

GRVA-10-28 | UN R90: Proposal for amendments to document GRVA/2021/15 ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2021/15 was prepared by the expert from the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) to resolve the problem of fulfilling increasingly difficult Conformity of Production (CoP) routine obligations caused by unavailability of the specifically prescribed hardware.
GRVA/2021/15 | UN R90: Proposal for a new Supplement to the 01 and 02 Series of Amendments Proposal to replace the specification of the type and size of brake caliper and brake disc for brake lining CoP assessment with specifications for a pad area and thickness of the original approval. The original specification corresponds to obsolete caliper and rotor configurations no longer in widespread use.

GRVA discussed GRVA-10-02 prepared by AC.2 at its informal session in April 2021. GRVA provided input for the rows related to EDR and DSSAD (GRVA-10-02/Rev.1). GRVA kept unchanged the row related to cyber security.
GRVA invited the AC.2 Secretary to distribute this input to AC.2 for consideration in June 2021.

GRVA received information (GRVA-10-10) concerning the letter of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (GRVA-10-07) and agreed to follow the recommendation of AC.2 (as noted in the last section of GRVA-10-10). GRVA requested the secretariat to prepare a response, accordingly.

GRVA discussed the difficult conditions in which some delegations from Asia and America participate in the numerous virtual meetings organized in direct conjunction with GRVA activities. GRVA agreed that the Co-Chairs of the IWGs, Task Force and SIG pay attention to this question, when organizing meetings.
GRVA welcomed the suggestion to organize sessions of GRVA outside of Geneva in 2022 and requested the Chair and the secretariat to consult, if possible, already in June 2021, the delegations from Asia and America on the possibilities to host such meetings.
