The aim of this proposal is to set down a measurement procedure for effective verification of the functioning of particulate filters in diesel vehicles with a particle counter. This verification is conducted by measuring the number of diesel particles in the tailpipe of a diesel vehicle with an idle engine. This proposal provides a basis for introducing the particulate filter check with particle counters for Periodic Technical Inspection (PTI).
