PTI informal group working draft “Proposal for a new UN Rule [No. 3] on Periodical Technical Inspections of motor vehicles using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liqufied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and/or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in their propulsion system”

The light vehicle emissions GTR (WLTP) is being transposed into a UN Regulation. Given its complexity, the preferred approach is to draft a UN Regulation that would allow national/regional application with different stringency levels. The task force preparing the UN Regulation version of the GTR seeks IWVTA informal group input to understand issues that may impact the application of the light vehicle emissions regulation to whole vehicle type approvals.

Presentation on the consortium researching a methodology for the measurement of particles to about 10 nm and development of a high efficiency PN-Portable Emission Measurement System (PEMS) demonstrator.

Testing of ECE (European) and NAO (North American) brake pads, including copper-free variants, for particle emissions.

SUREAL-23 program work package schedule. The SUREAL-23 project is developing novel nanoparticle concentration/size/composition measurement instrumentation, with special focus on the ultrafine nanoparticles emitted by internal combustion engines. The goal of the project is to quantitatively and qualitatively assess nanoparticle emissions of less than 23 nm and down to 1nm in size, in order to facilitate future emission regulations as well as to assess any potential trade-offs between advances in engine technology, efficiency and emissions.
