72. The World Forum considered draft amendments under agenda items 4.8.1 and 4.8.10 and recommended their submission to AC.1 for voting.
73. The representative from the United Kingdom explained that his country would abstain from AC.1 vote on the amendment proposals for reversing light projections under agenda items 4.8.3 – 4.8.6 and 4.8.8, highlighting that vulnerable road user groups had not been consulted on these proposals. He went on to highlight that there are growing numbers of technologies under consideration at WP.29 which may impact other road user groups, and where this is the case, it is important to seek their views, perhaps through consultation with WP.1.
74. The representative of Netherlands (Kingdom of the) expressed that in the current proposals GRE representatives had done a good job, but that he supported the awareness call of the United Kingdom on consulting the relevant experts, since the number of new and mandated regulations on the exterior behaviour characteristics were growing and might have an increasing impact on other road users.
75. The representative of Canada supported the idea of having broader consultations with vulnerable road users (VRU) communities and WP.1 on this topic.
