The representative of the European Union informed AC.3 that the work to develop a new UN GTR on Global RDE had shifted focus, as the procedure that was initially envisaged for the phase 1 of the UN GTR was based on the EU approach that had been widely included in the new UN Regulation No. [XXX] on RDE. He emphasized the IWG on RDE would discuss a new approach to better engage all parties involved during the next session of GRPE in January 2021. He expected a revised authorization to develop the new UN GTR would be submitted to AC.3 in the forthcoming sessions.
