The representative of CITA, on behalf of the IWG on PTI, presented the informal document WP.29-175-07 on possible methods to detect the tampering of Air Emission Control Systems (Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in the framework of PTI and Road Side Inspection (RSI). These methods included visual inspection, external measurement and diagnostic functions. He concluded his presentation, stating that simple measures could make tampering too expensive to economically justify avoiding maintenance.

107. The Chair of GRPE recalled that GRPE had an agenda item on this subject and invited the IWG to contribute to the work of GRPE on this matter.
