Proposal is to define common rules while leaving the choice to
countries to adopt them or not. These rules must in particular make it possible to
automatically cut off the work lamps in circulation to avoid glare and make traffic
safer

In order to harmonise requirements among different installation Regulations, the SLR Officers offered to draft a proposal for Reg. 48 to clarify that devices not allowed in the Regulation are prohibited (in line with Par. 5.17. of Reg. 53).

Proposal to introduce provisions to enable the approval of reversing light projections.

Proposal prepared by the experts from the Task Force on Automated Vehicle Signalling Requirements (TF AVSR). Proposal aim to introduce vehicles with a driving system, which controls its operation or may be operated by driver support features or automated driving features or by an Automated Driving System (ADS).

Proposal is to define common rules while leaving the choice to countries to adopt them or not. These rules must in particular make it possible to automatically cut off the work lamps in circulation to avoid glare and make traffic safer.

Proposal to clarify that only light-signalling devices may incorporate an illuminated logo.

Proposal to introduce new light emitting diode (LED) light source categories LW7A and LW7B.

Proposal with the aim to allow the projection of a pattern for predicted trajectory.

Proposal to correct and clarify the existing provisions. The proposal aims to allow Category HT and X special warning lamps emitting light in different colours in the same manner as Category T.

Proposal aims to correct a wrong reference for the determination of the approval marking size.

This proposal intends to rectify the inconsistency between UN Regulation No. 149, (both original version and 01 series of amendments) and the frozen UN Regulations (namely UN Regulations Nos. 98, 112 and 123) by aligning the measurement points for the mechanical deterioration test. The deletion of measuring point HV, for the passing-beam headlamps, does not change any technical requirement since there are no photometric values specified for point HV in the UN Regulation No. 149, both in the original version and in the 01 series of amendments.

Proposal aims to correct COP Tables. the maximum luminous intensity of Segment BLL for Class V (see Tables 6 and 7) was intentionally changed from 880 cd (as in UN Regulation No. 123 and in the original series of amendments of UN
Regulation No. 149) to 625 cd (as in the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 149). The purpose of this modification was to align the value with Class C but, by mistake, this change was not reflected in the COP Tables 25 and 26

Proposal aims to introduce reversing projections. This proposal intends to introduce the possibility of light-signalling, in form of projection of patterns on the road, for other road users through new light-signalling function

Proposal for a Supplement to the 06, 07, 08 and 09 series of
amendments to UN Regulation No. 48

Proposal aims to amend failure detection and signalisation requirements to reflect technological progress in multiple light sources. This amendment proposes to include in UN Regulation No. 149 different provisions allowing that a failure signal is only triggered when a significant change in the beam is detected and ensuring that the most suitable failure provision can be applied.
