The World Forum welcomed the proposal by the secretariat to update the guidelines on transitional provisions and to provide additional guidelines on the scope, administrative provisions and alternative requirements in Regulations. These general guidelines are intended to provide guidance to the subsidiary bodies of WP.29 on the procedure of developing new and amending existing UNECE Regulations especially in drafting the scope, administrative provisions and alternative requirements. WP.29 delegates were invited to provide the secretariat with their comments by mid-December 2010. The secretariat was requested to distribute WP.29-152-06, including the comments received, with an official symbol for a detailed consideration by the subsidiary Working Parties, which should submit their comments to WP.29 for the June 2011 session at latest.

72. It was agreed that this proposal would supersede, once adopted, the current guidelines for transitional provisions (TRANS/WP.29/1044).
