Proposal from Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the European Commission to introduce the term and definition of “common space”, provisions for ensuring the confidentiality of intellectual property, and to note exemptions for existing approvals with regard to the provision “to allow egress” in the approval Communication form.

GRSP adopted a SIG TP EVS proposal, namely ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2024/22 as amended by informal document GRSP-76-09, and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote to WP.29 and AC.1 at their sessions in March 2025 as proposals for supplement 5 to the 03 series of amendments and supplement 2 to the 04 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 100.

21. On behalf of the Special Interest Group on Thermal Propagation Electric Vehicle Safety (SIG TP EVS), the expert from EC introduced a proposal for a new 05 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 100 aiming at the improved requirements concerning thermal propagation and approval of electric powered vehicles (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2024/18 and informal documents GRSP-76-08 and GRSP-76-39). The expert from OICA suggested modifying the proposal by extending the transitional provisions (informal document GRSP-76-34). Following an in-depth discussion, GRSP adopted the proposal as amended by informal document GRSP-76-08-Rev.1 and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote to WP.29 and AC.1 at their sessions in March 2025 as a proposal for a 05 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 100.
