Summary | Proposals for amendments to Regulations Nos. 4, 6, 7, 19, 23, 38, 48, 50, 77, 87, 91, 98, 112, 113, 119, 123 to clarify requirements for light sources in lighting and light-signalling Regulations listed in Annex 4 to UN Regulation No. 0. The proposed UN R0 on whole vehicle type approval requires submission of approval certificates for components and systems. Vehicle manufacturers work directly with UN R48 approvals, but lamp and device approvals are generally handled by lighting suppliers. UN R48 includes provisions for listing approvals of lighting units, but not for approvals of light sources (presently UN R37, R99, and R128). This set of proposed amendments introduces provisions for light-source approvals under the device regulations. | ||||||||
