Document Title Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 07 series of amendments to Regulation No. 16
Reference Number GRSP-60-12
Date
9 Dec 2016
Summary The current paragraph 15.6 foresees that, for type approval to the 07 series, safety belt reminders are not compulsory until 1 September 2022 on the exempted seats (e.g. seat rows with a suspension seat). In the absence of any clarification for the case of extensions of type approvals, paragraph 15.6 of UN R16.07 could create interpretation problems when a previously granted approval for an exempted vehicle needs to be extended after 1 September 2022. As previously agreed by GRSP, this proposal would clarify that the new SBR requirements would be applicable only for new type approvals as from 1 September 2022, such that previously granted approvals would remain accepted, with their exemption.
