GRSG agreed to resume discussion on a revised proposal from the Task Force on UN Regulation No. 46 (TF-R46) on remaining issues to be resolved to improve current requirements of the UN Regulation (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2025/8).

Proposal to:
Improve the positioning of pure Class I monitors for drivers with presbyopia (difficulty in clearly seeing close objects)
Introduce installation requirements for surveillance mirrors and surveillance camera-monitor-recording devices
Allow for single approval number for devices with more than one field-of-view
Refine obstruction provisions
Introduce provisions for rounding of magnification factors
Introduce a new definition for “Surveillance camera-monitor-recording device”
Clarification of the “external original surface” concept
Clarification that the radius of curvature is not be mandatory on the back of Class I mirrors
Allow greater flexibility in conducting the pendulum testing
Clarify the “operation readiness” with respect to partially folded camera wings
Allow for alternatives to the test defined in annex 7 for evaluating the radius of curvature on the reflecting surface if needed
