It has also been raised by the labour unions that buses need to become more crash resistant. Plan is to change the scope and perhaps add a new section for testing the front of the buses. Alternatively make a new regulation for frontal protection for buses. |

The text has been proposed to be updated in the UN Regulation 16 Supplement 05 to 08 series of amendments, it seeks to harmonize requirements in both UN Regulation 14 and UN Regulation 16. |

The footnote to paragraph 3.2.2. is added to further clarify the definition of the use of a one belt route. In its current state, the text apparently has been interpreted as to allow the use of a single belt route for each application that an Enhanced Child Restraint System (ECRS) would offer. That way, one belt route for a rearward facing ECRS (integral) and a second belt route for a forward facing (non- integral) ECRS has been introduced, making a combination of C and E. |

The wording “fitted to N1 or N2 for the safe ingress and egress of the driver via the front passenger door” means to cover folding seats that can typically be found in delivery vans, and where this front passenger door is frequently used by the driver to safely exit the vehicle (on the vehicle side away from traffic). |
