Text as adopted by the Working Party on Lighting and Light Signalling (GRE) at its 68th session (document GRE/2012/32, not amended) to align the cut-off requirements of UN R19 with those of UN R98 and UN R112.

Updated proposal to clarify the deletion of distributed lighting systems (DLS), or rather light generators, from the Regulations No. 19, 48 and 98, because the provisions for the DLS systems are incomplete. This deletion was never fully complete while these systems have become obsolete.

Proposal to align the cut-off requirements of UN R19 with UN R98 and R112 such that the cut-off quality (sharpness (G value) and linearity of the cut-off) are only assessed when the vertical adjustment cannot be performed repeatedly to the required position due to an unclear cut-off.
