Proposal to: - Insert new paragraphs 0. and 0.1. to 0.1.4. providing introduction to the 01 series of amendments regarding vehicles of categories X and Y and alignment of provisions for all occupants,
- Amend paragraphs 0.1., 0.1.1., 0.1.3., 1.1. and 2.2., footnote 1 to define terms according to Consolidated Resolution R.E.3.,
- Amend paragraph 2.7. to define passenger compartment,
- Amend paragraph 4.4., footnote 2 to reference Consolidated Resolution R.E.3.,
- Amend paragraph 5.2.1. to require heating systems in each passenger compartment,
- Insert new paragraphs 12. and 12.1. to 12.2.4. providing transitional provisions,
- Amend Annex 5, paragraph 2. to establish surface temperature requirements and allow manufacturers to justify higher temperatures through safety concept demonstration,
- Amend Annex 5, paragraph 2.1. to limit surface temperature to 70°C for uncoated metal or 80°C for other materials,
- Delete Annex 5, paragraphs 2.2. and 2.3.,
- As from official entry into force, Contracting Parties shall not refuse type approvals under the 01 series,
- As from 1 September 2028, Contracting Parties shall not be obliged to accept approvals to the original version first issued after that date,
- Contracting Parties shall continue accepting original version approvals first issued before 1 September 2028 and equipment/parts approvals issued under the original version.
