Proposal from the GRSG task force on Automated Vehicles Regulation Screening to enable application of UN R97 to ADS vehicles. In the absence of a driver/driver’s compartment//manual driving controls in the vehicle, provisions related to them shall not be taken into account if not already covered by this amendment. ADS vehicles that permit manual driving shall meet the requirements of this regulation when the vehicle is operated by a driver.
