UN R49: Proposal for a Supplement 3 to the 07 series of amendments

Proposal to introduce new provisions to accommodate type-approval of hydrogen Type 1A dual fuel engines and vehicles, modifications to include Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) instruments, new provisions to accommodate monitoring on-board fuel and/or energy consumption during PEMS testing, and to amend for consistency between UN R49 and UN R83 in light of amendments to the 06 and 07 series of UN R83.
This proposal (WP.29/2025/94) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-three Contracting Parties out of the 52 applying UN R49 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-three voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
