GRSG was informed (GRSG-131-50) of the outcomes of the kick off workshop on Door Opening Warning Systems (DOWS), held following GRVA’s referral of the subject and GRSG’s decision to establish co led workshops by Germany and China. The workshop reviewed available accident data, noted significant data limitations and regional differences, and held an exploratory, non binding exchange on potential system and regulatory aspects. Participants agreed that further international data collection and discussion were warranted before any regulatory conclusions, and that the workshop series would report back to GRSG at its October session.
