Agenda item 4.10.32. Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 167 (Vulnerable Road Users Direct Vision)

Proposal to amend UN Regulation No. 167:

Amend para. 0.10. through 0.10.2. to introduce scope for vehicles of categories X and Y
Amend para. 1.1. to add footnote 1 defining vehicle categories
Insert new para. 1.3. excluding category Y and category X vehicles without manual on-board operation
Amend paras. 2.13. to 2.15. to reference Addendum 6 of Mutual Resolution No. 1 (M.R.1) and renumber footnotes
Insert new para. 2.31. defining “Safety Concept”
Amend para. 4.5. to revise approval mark requirements and renumber footnotes
Insert new para. 5.1.3. permitting alternative requirements for category X vehicles with manual on-board operation
Amend Annex 3 to revise approval mark arrangements

18. GRSG noted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2026/24, submitted by the expert from OICA and agreed to discuss it under agenda item 13(b).

37. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, on behalf of the Task Force on Automated Vehicles Regulatory Screening (TF-AVRS) introduced the status report of the TF-AVRS (GRSG-131-46). He also introduced proposals of amendments updating the regulations (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2025/18, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2025/20, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2025/26, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2025/27 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2026/2 to 18) and the latest updated document from the TF superseding part of the official documents (GRSG-131-21 to GRSG-131-43). Then GRSG adopted the following documents he introduced and requested the secretariat to submit them for consideration and vote at the June 2026 session of WP.29 and AC.1:
