The Secretary recalled the highlights of the last WP.29 session, including the adoption of ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2024/34/Rev.1, as amended by Annex VI to the session report, and the request of Germany to establish a group under WP.29 to deal with Artificial Intelligence (AI). He explained that some Parties mentioned that this task could be assigned to the IWG on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). He mentioned that the discussion was still ongoing at WP.29 level and that in the meantime, the WP.29 subsidiary bodies could continue to exchange views on that topic.

11. During the consultations, the experts recalled the adoption by WP.29 of the document titled “Considerations on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Context of Road Vehicles” (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1182) and the ongoing discussions about the establishment of a WP.29 subgroup dedicated to AI.

12. GRVA agreed to keep agenda item 3 on the agenda for future sessions to allow to continued exchange.
