The expert from India proposed making optional the fitment of front position lamps, due to the introduction of auto headlamp switching, and alternatively DRL provisions in UN Regulation No. 53 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2018/47 and GRE-80-26). The experts of Finland, Germany and UK expressed doubts. The Chair concluded that there was not enough support for the proposal and proposed to revert to this issue at the next session. He also invited the expert from India to try to convince the experts in doubt before the next session.
