Proposal to clarify the installation requirements for N3 vehicles for seating positions other than the front positions.
21. The experts from Denmark introduced GRSP-59-19-Rev.1 (superseding ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2016/12), jointly prepared with the expert from Japan, aimed at revising the table of Annex XVI “Safety-belt installation showing the belt types and retractor types” of the UN Regulation. GRSP adopted the proposal, as reproduced in Annex II to this report. The secretariat was requested to submit the proposal for consideration and vote at the November 2016 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as part of (see para. 18) draft Supplement 8 to the 06 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 16.
74. The World Forum considered the draft amendments under agenda items 4.8.1 to 4.8.10 and recommended their submission to AC.1 for voting subject to the editorial correction below:
75. Agenda item 4.8.1, in ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2016/98, paragraph 12.1, correct "granted/refused/extended/withdrawn,2 " to read: "granted/extended,2 ".
19. The expert from the Netherlands informed GRSP on the progress of work of the “Task Force (TF) on Energy absorption of seats” (former group of interested experts on new restraint system technology). He clarified that the group had decided that eventually there was no need to develop further amendments to the Regulation. He added that Supplement 8 to the 06 series amendments to Regulation No. 16 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2016/98), adopted by WP.29 at its November 2016 session, was sufficient to cover the energy absorption requirements of the rear part of seat backs. Accordingly, he announced that the activity of the TF was dissolved. GRSP agreed to remove ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2015/27 from its agenda.
