Proposal for Supplement 27 to the 01 series of amendments to Regulation No. 6
Documentation
WP.29-171-03
Proposals for amendments to clarify requirements for light sources in lighting and light-signalling Regulations listed in Annex 4 to the draft UN Regulation No. 0 (EU)
Proposals for amendments to clarify requirements for light sources in lighting and light-signalling Regulations listed in Annex 4 to the draft UN Regulation No. 0
Proposals for amendments to Regulations Nos. 4, 6, 7, 19, 23, 38, 48, 50, 77, 87, 91, 98, 112, 113, 119, 123 to clarify requirements for light sources in lighting and light-signalling Regulations listed in Annex 4 to UN Regulation No. 0. The proposed UN R0 on whole vehicle type approval requires submission of approval certificates for components and systems. Vehicle manufacturers work directly with UN R48 approvals, but lamp and device approvals are generally handled by lighting suppliers. UN R48 includes provisions for listing approvals of lighting units, but not for approvals of light sources (presently UN R37, R99, and R128). This set of proposed amendments introduces provisions for light-source approvals under the device regulations.
WP.29/2017/21
Proposal for Supplement 27 to the 01 series of amendments to Regulation No. 6
Proposal for Supplement 27 to the 01 series of amendments to Regulation No. 6
Proposal to
insert provisions for the use of incandescent light sources in the case of light source modules and lamps with non-replaceable light sources,
update the Conformity of Production requirements (CoP),
reference the compliance requirements for installation contained in Regulations Nos. 48, 53, 72 and 86, as warranted,
clarify the definition of “type”, with regard to manufacturer, trade names and marks,
introduce editorial improvements to the requirements for markings,
correct an oversight in Supplement 24 to the 01 series of amendments and align the treatment of categories 1, 1a and 1b with other categories and devices.
align the text in the header row of the table in paragraph 6.1 (light emitted by the lamps) with the definitions used in Regulation No. 48 for the installation of “single lamps”, “lamps marked D” and “interdependent lamps”, and
removes the requirement to indicate the rated wattage in the marking of lamps equipped with electronic light source control gear and/or non-replaceable light sources and/or light source module(s).
This supplement consolidates UN R6 prior to its being “frozen” and superseded by the new regulation on light-signalling devices prepared under the Simplification of Lighting Regulations program.
This proposal (WP.29/2017/21) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-seven Contracting Parties out of the 48 applying UN R6 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-seven voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
