| Euro 7 Tire Abrasion Idea for a Measurement Set-up for Accelerated Tests |
| Reference Number: TA-52-07 |
|
Presentation of a concept for accelerated tire wear testing using a standard truck with independent steering on left and right sides. The method employs steering actuators from existing steered rear axles to create longitudinal and lateral slip, accelerating tire wear while maintaining representative behavior. Reference tire and test specimen can be mounted on separate axles to compare wear rates. |

| Tire Abrasion Circuit Test Results in Korea |
| Reference Number: TA-52-08 |
|
Test findings from seven circuits in the Republic of Korea show that estimated SRTT17S abrasion levels at 20 °C exceeded the specified range of 25–75 mg/(kmt) at six of the seven circuits tested. These results indicate that conducting UN R186 tyre abrasion tests in the Republic of Korea on circuits that meet the current range would be challenging at present. The Republic of Korea suggests reviewing the suitability of the current circuit abrasion level range and commits to support efforts to establish a circuit abrasion level range applicable to circuits worldwide. |

| Outline of 1st DETA/IWVTA Workshop in 2026 |
| Reference Number: IWVTA-52-06 |
|
Document outlining the 1st DETA/IWVTA Workshop held on 17 June 2026 in Flensburg, Germany. The workshop covered presentations on what DETA and IWVTA are, industry and government expectations, and issuance and acceptance of IWVTA certificates in the EU. Survey responses from 15 participants, including from Southeast Asian countries, indicated needs for more explanation on DETA access rights, onboarding processes for new Contracting Parties, and clearer guidance on how IWVTA can be modified to suit individual markets. Suggestions included developing supporting materials and guidelines on IWVTA application procedures and organizing a second workshop in Japan or Asia. |

Report on the Task Force on Tyre Abrasion’s work from February to October 2026. Foundational methodologies for C1 tyres were adopted and incorporated into a new UN Regulation 186 on tyre abrasion, with a two-stage implementation approach requiring new tyre type approvals from 30 June 2028 and mandatory approval from 30 June 2030, with fitting of pre-June 2030 tyres on vehicles permitted until 30 June 2032, and stage 2 introducing tighter limits with new approvals from 30 June 2033 and mandatory approval from 30 June 2035. C2 test method development is ongoing with an informal document presentation targeting February 2027 submission of a formal working document. For C3 tyres, a brainstorming session was planned for October 2026 in Brussels to develop simplified test methods before physical testing, focusing initially on long-haul and regional 22.5-inch tyres. |

| IWVTA Discussion paper – implementation of R.E.3. Revision 8 |
| Reference Number: IWVTA-52-07 |
|
Discussion of R.E.3. revision 8 adopted by WP.29 in November 2025, which allows vehicle manufacturers to apply for new approvals for software versions on registered vehicles. The Netherlands raised concerns about compatibility with type approval principles, the 1958 Agreement, and EU law, citing issues with traceability, multiple approvals for one type, approval requirements for non-production vehicles, and product marking. The document proposes distinguishing between ‘live’ approvals for new vehicles using normal type approval procedures and ‘legacy’ approvals for in-service vehicles using an updated revision concept, with updates to Schedule 3 of the 1958 Agreement and R.E.3. revision 9. |
