UN R22: Proposal for Supplement 3 to the 05 series of amendments
Proposal to modify the frequency of conformity of production inspections and random sampling and to prohibit the use of the DETA program Unique Identifier in place of the approval mark specified in UN R22 because the current mark provides important consumer information that would be lost through use of the UI. This latter prohibition has similarly been approved for child restraint systems (UN R44 and R129).
This proposal (WP.29/2018/38) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-three Contracting Parties out of the 45 applying UN R22 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-three voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
UN R22: Proposal for a Supplement 4 to the 05 series of amendments
Proposal to remove the prohibition on use the Unique Identifier per the WP.29 decision to change the default application of the UI from a requirement (requiring prohibition in cases where UI does not apply) to a permission (requiring an affirmative statement that UI may be used under a Regulation).
