Research Institute for Road Safety

The Research Institute for Road Safety of the Ministry of Public Security is a specialized scientific research and teaching unit operating under the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China. The institute plays a critical role in national road traffic safety, contributing to the formulation of policies such as the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China (enacted in 2003). Its research supports the National Inter-ministerial Joint Conference on Road Traffic Safety, where the Ministry of Public Security serves as the lead body for coordinating nationwide safety efforts, documenting accident statistics, and mapping middle- and long-term safety policies.
