Proposal for a new UN Regulation on the approval of approval of studded tyres with regard to their snow performance (distinguished from studdable tyres regulated by UN Regulation No. 117). GAR Note: Japan abstained during the WP.29 vote, noting that studded tyres are prohibited under their national legislation and therefore that Japan does not intend to apply this new Regulation.
This proposal (WP.29/2022/43) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-nine Contracting Parties to the 1958 Agreement were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-six voted in favor with zero against and three abstaining.
