CRS-55-05 | Proposal to amend the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 129 Proposal to clarify the markings on modular CRS in order to minimize the potential for misuse of components. Since the base and the shell of an enhanced CRS can be sold separately, there is the possibility for mixing of elements from different CRS that have not been tested and approved as part of a modular system.

7.1.2. Proposal from Franck BROUWER (TASS), Eric SALTERS (DOREL) & Hans AMMERLAAN (RDW) : CRS-55-06e
For Pierre CASTAING (UTAC & Chairman), we do not have to place the approval number on the module, because it can be installed in stand-alone (and not approved in this installation) and the have approval number logo. The size range & number of the module can be placed on the module.

CRS-55-06 | Double marking of modular CRS systems under UN Regulation No. 129 Presentation and proposal for clarification of language to avoid marking of stand-alone CRS that can be used as part of a modular CRS with markings under UN Regulation No. 44 and to ensure that all elements of a modular system are clearly tested, approved, and marked as parts of that modular system under UN R129.

10.1. Status report on “simple seat belt path"

The document CRS-55-07 (not available) was presented during the meeting but will be available on UNECE web site later (after the Munich conference on the child safety).

Proposal of finding an elegant way to promote through the new ECE regulation the integral systems that shows the most lower rate on incorrect installations with the vehicle seatbelts.

For the integral forward & rearward facing, few families of type of restraint are established and the installation misuse rate is given.

The harness (under arms or with excessive slack) remaining issues even when correctly installed. For Boosters systems, the main issue is the seatbelt not on the shoulder. We have to avoid misuse by good design especially on the seatbelt and armrests for booster seats. We have to have reflection on forward facing multi-group systems because different seatbelt routes using the same colour code because both are forward facing installation and can be sources of confusions.
