2. Advanced Emergency Braking Systems
GRRF-78-36 | Proposal for supplement 01 to the 00 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 131 (Scope) Vehicle manufacturers are currently implementing AEBS on a large variety of models, e.g. to fulfil mandatory requirements of some Contracting Parties. This implementation work confirms the concerns which were brought up for discussion during the AEBS/LDWS informal group activities and sheds light on a number of technical issues that appeared when installing obstacle detection devices on some specific vehicles, in particular in case of huge technical diversity and where the vehicle environment can have negative impact on system reliability and on its ability to operate. This proposal would alter the regulation scope to exempt such vehicles from mandatory compliance.

GRRF-76-23 | Proposal for amendments to the draft regulation on Electronic Stability Control Proposal to amend the draft text for the proposed new regulation on ESC which would extract the ESC provisions from the current UN R13-H on light vehicle braking systems. The intention is to clarify the meaning of the text in places where it is ambiguous when taken out of the context of UN R13-H.
GRRF-76-33 | Proposal for amendments to document GRRF/2014/11 (new BAS regulation) India noted an erroneous reference to "ESC" in the original document where "BAS" was clearly intended.
GRRF-76-34 | Proposal for a new Regulation on Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Proposed corrections and clarifications to the draft text of the new regulation to separate ESC provisions from Regulation No. 13-H (document GRRF/2014/12).

GRRF-78-29 | Proposal to amend the k value method reference in the draft of ESC regulation Proposal to delete Annex 7 from the draft ESC regulation and replace the procedure for validating the test (road) surface condition with a reference to Appendix 6 to Annex 2 of UN R13-H. This change would ensure that the ESC regulation fully aligns with UN R13-H and with GTR No. 8 on ESC systems.
GRRF-78-41 | CLEPA Proposal Associated with Annex CEL and its Application to Functions or Systems Defined within a Separate Regulation Presentation discussing the framework for relating independent regulations on electronic subsystems of braking or steering systems to the primary braking/steering regulations.
GRRF-78-50 | Alternative text concerning the CEL Annex and its application to functions or systems defined within a separate Regulation CLEPA proposed a framework for relating independent regulations on electronic subsystems of braking or steering systems to the primary braking/steering regulations. This proposal revises the wording, focusing on ESC systems with relation to the requirements for complex electronic control systems under Regulation 13-H.

GRRF-78-51 | UN Regulation No. 90 approval numbers and certification issue For testing purposes, UN R90 defines a "test group" as a grouping of parts having the same characteristics. The regulation then defines a "variant" as a part within a "test group". However, the approval numbers under the rule stipulate the identification of each variant certified. As a result, the text technically requires certification of each individual part (variant) which was not the intention of the drafters. CLEPA raises this for information purposes with the intention to put forward a proposal at the next GRRF session.
