38. The representative of the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) introduced GRPE-94-25-Rev.1. The representative of OICA reminded GRPE that the topic of heavy duty fuel economy standards had been raised on several occasions at previous sessions of GRPE and that it was an important topic for OICA. He invited all interested parties to potentially re-open the discussion and to work towards harmonization of all or parts of the various fuel economy standard regimes around the globe.

39. The representative of the Republic of Korea informed that the Republic of Korea was in the process of putting in place a voluntary scheme for monitoring CO2 emission of trucks. He added the scheme was close to the VECTO methodology used in the EU.
