The expert from OICA informed GRSG that in some territories, the second generation of mobile networks (2G) had been superseded and that manufacturers obligatorily provided a system that did not work in those territories. Therefore, he underlined the need to obtain information about other regions where the 2G system had been superseded. GRSG agreed to resume discussion on this subject at its October 2024 session.
