The Informal Working Group on Automotive Life Cycle Assessment decided not to submit the Working Document for the 95th GRPE session. The Mutual Resolution will not be submitted for adoption at the October 2026 GRPE session due to unresolved issues and lack of consensus. The leading team will prepare a status report for October 2026 GRPE describing progress, current status, remaining issues, and proposed way forward. A revised Terms of Reference extending the IWG mandate will be prepared. An additional meeting may be organized to determine the future work programme.
RD-ASEP includes technical background and vehicle application guidance for Real Driving Additional Sound Emission Provisions under UN R51.03 Supplement 7 Annex 9 for the mandatory monitoring phase between 07/2023 and 06/2024. RD-ASEP, referenced in GRB-68-03, applies to vehicles of category M1 and N1 equipped with internal combustion engines and covers engine speeds up to 95% of typical driving in speed ranges applicable to sub-urban conditions. A Sound Expectation Model predicts vehicle sound levels at randomly selected operation conditions by splitting measured pass-by test results into tyre rolling sound, mechanical no-load sound, and dynamic sound components, using reference values from Annex 3 type approval tests with logarithmic functions and parameter table slopes. Compliance assessment allows measured sound to exceed calculated expected sound by not more than 2 dB for maximum two test runs out of fifteen. Model validation with 2024 monitoring database confirms the tyre rolling sound and power train sound models represent well approved tyres and engines, with less than 5 dB typically separating pass-by run results from the limit.
The Informal Working Group on Advanced Emergency Braking System held its 2nd meeting on 18 June 2026. Australia had submitted documents GRVA/2026/21 and GRVA-25-36 proposing amendments to UN R152. For para. 2.14, the group agreed to insert a footnote stating “this value is understood to be a minimum value,” with a working document to be prepared for next GRVA. For para. 5.2.1.1, Australia withdrew its proposal to remove the 0.8s TTC warning condition after safety concerns were raised. CLEPA-OICA, UK and Australia will prepare a clarification proposal for next GRVA.
This document presents draft provisions for UN Regulation No. 11 concerning door latches and door retention components. Inspired by justifications in GRSP-79-19 and GRSP-78-48, amendments address vehicles equipped with Automated Driving System features (ADSF-1 and ADSF-2), extending requirements to vehicles of category X while excluding category Y. Key EDO additions include definitions for latch release controls, door handles, power loss, and unlock/unlatch operations. New performance requirements mandate intuitive latch release controls and door handles; power-assisted exterior and interior controls must remain functional for at least 60 minutes after power loss through secondary mechanical means, active secondary power supplies, or fail-safe principles. Annex 7 introduces a power loss test procedure verifying door operability following emergency events, with interior and exterior opening procedures conducted within 10 minutes after 60-minute power disconnection periods.
