The expert from CITA made a presentation (GRSP-78-17) on behalf of the IWG on electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle retrofit systems, that works under the umbrella of the Working Party on Pollution and Energy (GRPE). He summarized the work already done and future plans and encouraged GRSP experts to attend their meetings in order to get a better input in matters related to safety. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands explained that although for EV conversions, UN Regulation No. 100 would be useful, for HFCV ones, UN Regulation No. 134 would not be sufficient.

88. The representative of Spain presented (GRVA-24-07) the activities of the GRPE IWG on Electric Vehicles and Hybrid Fuel Cell Vehicles (EV/HFCV) retrofit systems. She invited the GRVA experts to join the next meetings as their expertise would be needed to address braking and cybersecurity provisions.

47. The co-Chair of the IWG on EV/HFCV retrofit systems introduced GRPE-94-06. The secretariat asked whether range determination was to be included in the tests to be performed to approve retrofit systems. The co-Chair of the IWG on EV/HFCV retrofit systems confirmed discussion were still on-going on this topic.
