Excerpts from session reports
GRE | Session 66 | 4-6 Oct 2011

36. GRE considered ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/35 by the expert from the People’s Republic of China improving the test of resistance of lenses material to atmospheric agents. GRE noted a number of comments, requested GTB to carefully review this proposal and agreed to reconsider this issue at its next session.

37. GRE adopted three proposals tabled by the expert from GTB:

  • ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/45 amending the conformity of production requirements,
  • ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/54 amending the photometric requirements in the case of a LED module operating with electronic control gear and
  • ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/55 revising the definition of “LED Modules”.
The secretariat introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/64 correcting an editorial error in the 01 series of amendments.

GRE adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/45, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/54, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/55 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/64, all not amended, and requested the secretariat to submit them to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration at their March 2012 session as part of draft Supplement 3 to the 01 series of Regulation No. 112 (see para. 20 and 27).

However, for document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/54, the expert from the Netherlands expressed his concerns regarding the proposed increase of intensity (maximum value at the 50L test point).

GRE | Session 67 | 26-29 Mar 2012

42. GRE noted that a revised proposal based on ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/35 was not yet available. GRE agreed to resume consideration of this subject on the basis of a revised proposal jointly prepared by the experts from China and GTB at its October 2012 session. GRE also invited the expert from SAE to cooperate the drafting of the proposal, if needed.

GRE | Session 68 | 16-18 Oct 2012

37. The expert from China introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2012/35 and GRE-68-35, proposing to improve the resistance test of lens material to atmospheric agents. GRE noted some comments about the the impact of changed requirements and test methods on the re-qualification of existing approved materials, even if in principle the regulation could be updated. The expert from SAE provided the secretariat with written comments after the meeting (GRE-68-41) to the proposals tabled by the expert from China.

GRE | Session 70 | 21-23 Oct 2013

31. The expert from SAE introduced GRE-70-18 providing comments on the proposal by the expert from China (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/35). The expert from China withdrew this proposal.

GRE | Session 69 | 8-11 Apr 2013

32. GRE reconsidered ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2011/35 tabled by the expert from China. The expert from SAE reported on the work progress of his organization on this matter. GRE agreed to resume discussion on this item at its October 2013 session awaiting the work outcome of SAE.
