45. The representative of Japan, on behalf of the Chair of the IWG on IWVTA, reported on the progress made during the meetings of the Group on the development of draft UN Regulation No. 0 (WP.29-168-12). He presented the status of the pre-testing programme of UN Regulation No. 0 and of the list of UN Regulations applicable to IWVTA. He added that the Group had updated the question and answer document on IWVTA. He expected that the IWG would resume deliberations in June 2016 and that the results be reported to WP.29 at its next session.

46. The World Forum welcomed the work done by the IWG and agreed to resume consideration of this subject at the next session in June 2016.

47. Referring to WP.29-168-12, the representative of Japan also reported on recent outcome of the subgroup on the 1958 Agreement. He informed WP.29 that the subgroup had considered a proposal by Germany to amend article 2 as well as Schedule 2 on the assessment procedure of technical services. He concluded that the subgroup had agreed to keep the frozen text of draft Revision 3 to the 1958 Agreement as published in ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2016/2 and to resume consideration of further steps at future meetings.

50. The expert from OICA, in his capacity of GRSG Ambassador to the IWG on IWVTA, informed GRSG about the progress made during the recent meetings of the IWGs (WP.29-168-12). As an outcome of the task force set up by GRSG at the previous session, he introduced GRSG-110-24 proposing several solutions to clarify the scope of UN Regulation No. 116. GRSG welcomed the document and noted a number of comments.

51. Following the discussion, GRSG agreed to follow the idea of having in future three separate UN Regulations on (i) anti-theft devices, (ii) alarm systems and (iii) immobilizers. GRSG agreed to resume consideration of this subject at its next session in October 2016 on the basis of concrete proposals and requested the secretariat to keep GRSG-110-24 on the agenda as a reference document.

52. GRSP noted the progress of work on darft Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1120, paras. 45-55) and that the adoption was expected at the November 2016 sessions of WP.29. The expert from Japan, ambassador of IWVTA to GRSP, introduced the status report of the IWVTA IWG (WP.29-168-12). GRSP noted the still pending issue of UN Regulation No. 14 and encouraged a solution for its inclusion in list A of UN Regulation No. 0.
