Working Party on Lighting and Light-signalling | Session 92 | 22-25 Apr
Geneva
Agenda Item 4.
Simplification of Lighting and Light-Signalling UN Regulations

GRE will be informed about the progress of the Informal Working Group “Simplification of the Lighting and Light-Signalling Regulations” (IWG SLR) and will address amendment proposals prepared by IWG SLR, if available.

At its previous session, GRE agreed to seek advice from the Committee on Coordination of Work (AC.2) and WP.29 on the following points:

  • Whether UN Regulations should refer to a specific revision (currently Revision 7) of the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3.) or a dynamic reference would suffice, and
  • Whether the detailed description of an approval number in UN Regulations could be replaced by a reference to Schedule 4 of the 1958 Agreement.
GRE will be briefed on the AC.2 and WP.29 feedback on the above issues.

GRE is invited to revert to the IWG SLR request for guidance on the principle “prohibited if not allowed” for the lamp installation according to UN Regulation No. 48.
