Proposal to cease approvals under UN R44 for new types of built-in child restraint systems (given that these CRS are covered by UN R129 and UN R170).

Proposal from the STCBC informal group to end mutual recognition of new approvals to UN R44 from September 2027. UN R170 defines the requirements for the approval of built-in Child Restraint Systems in buses and coaches and UN R129 defines the requirements for the approval of built-in CRS in M1 vehicles.

Proposal to delete the provision under which "Contracting Parties applying this Regulation shall continue to accept type approvals of vehicle specific “built in” or specific vehicle “built in” child restraint systems issued according to the 04 series of amendments to this Regulation."
