Lamps equipped with non-replaceable light sources, e.g. LED’s, can be operated at a range of voltages. This proposal enables the proper testing and approval of such devices under a single approval number provided that the range of voltage and the rated (maximum) wattage is included in the marking of the lamp.

Proposal to correct the definition for different types of rear registration plate lamps. This proposal deletes the criteria " the angle of incidence of the light on the surface of the plate" in paragraph 1.3 because this item contradicts the provisions of paragraphs 2 and 7 which state "…. the manufacturer of the illuminating device shall specify one or more or a field of positions in which the device is to be fitted in relation to the space for the registration plate …. ".
