ADS guidance and interpretation: Behaviours and ODD in safety cases
Reference Number: ADS-20-46/Rev.1

Proposal to amend Paragraph 5.3.1.3 (GTR) / 7.3.1.3 (UNR) in Safety Case. The revision replaces “no new behaviours or traffic flows” with “no new behaviours or traffic flows density or dynamic element types” and adds “or traffic behaviour” to the text regarding traffic laws because ODD does not include a definition of traffic behaviour, making the original sentence factually incorrect.

ADS guidance and interpretation: ODD-related terminology
Reference Number: ADS-20-47

Proposal to amend paragraph 5.3.1.3 (GTR) / 7.3.1.3 (UNR) in Safety Case. The revised text adds “attributes and their respective values” to replace “parameters” in the sentence about links/dependencies between ODD parameters, to ensure consistent terminology and reflect that dependencies exist not only between attributes but also between their values.

Energy Saving Opportunities in Automotive Lighting: GTB Activities Status Report
Reference Number: GRE-94-54

A 2025 study by TU Darmstadt concluded that a daylight running light passing-beam switching threshold of 500lx is preferable at sunset, and that adaptive DRL values lower than 400cd seem sufficient. The GTB is developing amendment proposals for DRL/low beam switching thresholds, adaptive DRL, and Class V ECO mode. Annual energy saving potentials range from 55 GWh to 141 GWh across evaluated use cases, with highest savings from DRL intensity adaptation and reduced low beam in city nighttime driving.

UN R10 : IWG EMC Status report
Reference Number: GRE-94-53

IWG EMC prepared supplement 3 to the 07 series of amendments to UN R10, with terminological adjustments for ADS adoption, addition of categories X and Y, technical refinement of ADS including a new ADS table in Annex 6 paragraph 2.1.1.2, and modifications to artificial networks with discharge voltage below 50 V and maximum discharge time of 20 seconds. For the 08 series, approved proposals are prioritised on a roadmap.

Electric Vehicles and the Environment: Agenda for the 97th (May 2026) session
Reference Number: EVE-97-01

The agenda covers UN GTR 21, 22, and 25 discussions including topics on battery conditioning cycles, fuel cell electric vehicles, and energy throughput. UN GTR 25 amendment 2 must be submitted for the March 2027 GRPE by December 2026.

ADS guidance and interpretation: Proposal to amend ADS-20-10
Reference Number: ADS-20-45

Proposal to delete example “collision” under “Failure to meet the ADS requirements under paragraph 6 of this Regulation” in Annex 1 (GTR) and 3 (UNR) List of reportable occurrences by reporting type. The rationale states that not all collisions involving ADS vehicles constitute failure to meet ADS requirements, as some collisions are not caused by ADS or the ADS vehicle, and some collisions are not avoidable, such as suddenly appearing obstructing road users.

ADS: Proposal to amend audit of the safety policy guidance
Reference Number: ADS-20-41

Proposal to amend para. 8.1.5.1. (ADS UNR) of the audit of the safety policy guidance: Change “may state” to “states,” “may address” to “addresses,” and “may therefore describe” to “therefore describes.” The rationale states that using “may” in the interpretation paragraphs seems inappropriate for explaining regulatory intention, and present tense better suits these requirements.
