This document was prepared by the informal group on the introduction of plastic glazing for windscreens and laminated plastic panes other than windscreens in Regulation No. 43 (IGPG). It supersedes the informal document GRSG-103-20.

Text prepared by Germany to reintroduce 1) special type-approval tests and 2) special requirements regarding conformity of production to rigid plastic planes and rigid plastic double glazed units. Two further corrections are proposed in deleting 3) a false approval mark and 4) references to tests in the table of tests to be applied to safety glazing.

Proposal from Germany to allow type-approval of multiple-glazed (for example, double insulation) units as an assembly of more than two panes, such as used in caravans and motor homes.
